Standing tall amidst the forest's embrace, a grand red oak tree offers glimpses of the meadow through its sprawling branches, filtering sunlight in dappling patterns. Its sturdy trunk, adorned with rugged bark, serves as a silent sentinel, witnessing the passage of time with quiet dignity.
Maplewood Ridge runs parallel to Mountainview Meadow and contains the most diverse mix of tree species in the entire forest. Some of the largest and oldest sugar maples can be found here.
As you walk deeper into the forest, the terrain becomes more rugged and rises up from the meadow on a gentle slope, evoking a feeling of being deep in the woods.
An easy five minute walk from the Welcome House, Maplewood Ridge is the most conveniently located section of the forest.
We invite you to enjoy a personalized forest tour hosted by our Forest Guides. Bring your friends & family, meet your tree and our team, and experience the beauty of the forest you are helping to protect.
