One of the most magestic trees in the forest, located in the middle of our most beautiful section. Conveniently located next to a fallen tree, also known as a nurse log, that provides nutrients and protection from disease. This tree stands 80 feet tall and seems to greet you every time you enter this part of the forest.
Maplewood Ridge runs parallel to Mountainview Meadow and contains the most diverse mix of tree species in the entire forest. Some of the largest and oldest sugar maples can be found here.
As you walk deeper into the forest, the terrain becomes more rugged and rises up from the meadow on a gentle slope, evoking a feeling of being deep in the woods.
An easy five minute walk from the Welcome House, Maplewood Ridge is the most conveniently located section of the forest.
We invite you to enjoy a personalized forest tour hosted by our Forest Guides. Bring your friends & family, meet your tree and our team, and experience the beauty of the forest you are helping to protect.
We are opening for visits by appointment on March 4th and we look forward to hosting you soon.
