Featured Location within Poet's Knoll
This is the most mature part of Poet’s Knoll with a true “heart of the forest” feel, where quiet surroundings amplify the sounds of nature. Deep in the forest, this area offers a sense of privacy.
Home to local wildlife, a herd of local deer beds down at the southern edge of the woods every night. If you visit the forest in the morning, chances are you’ll see this family of deer starting their day.
For those who want a front row seat, these trees feature an amazing view of the historic Orchard Meadow. Mostly flat, this centrally located area offers varied shade. The memorial table and Welcome Area are both in close proximity.
This is a unique, narrow strip of young ponderosa pines with unobstructed views of the meadow. On clear days you can see hawks soaring overhead.
In late spring and early summer, the wetland meadow comes alive with butterflies, and blooming Larkspur transforms the grassy terrain into a carpet of purple flowers.
