This tree lives in busy area of our forest with squirrels, birds and deer feasting on tan oak acorns. It grows from and was nourished by the mother stump next to it which is also now home to a huckleberry bush.
Highland Ridge features the highest elevation on our property, where sunlight beckons and rhododendrons bloom. This area boasts winding trails that guide you deep into the forest toward the headwaters of our seasonal creek. Distinctive stump features inspire imagination and wonder, showcasing nature's artwork. Moss is prevalent on tanoaks, mother stumps and nurse logs, glowing green and bright. Birds convene here in the sunlight, perched in the canopy, delighting passerby with their melodies.
